Dear Achyut,

I was happy to visit your site and to also see that you have included large sections of B.C. Deva's writings on percussion instruments. It would be nice if you could also acknowledge or give details of the references that you have included on your site, as it currently seems as if you have penned Deva's work:)

Best wishes for 2012,

Aneesh

Hi Aneesh,
Hope this finds you both well. We talked about getting the theka and vibhag divisions of yogtal (Mogubai tarana)...can't find your email addrtess, but found this site...(good work re the NCPA archives!)..... I'm trying to get the project in its final form to the publisher in the next couple of days and sone of the remaining things is to get the vibhag layout for this song right. Please could you send it to me as soon as possible. I'd be very grateful.

All the best,

Nicolas

p.s. the other remaining problem is the rubai antaras of Nazakat and Salamat's taranas in Purvi, Megh and Rageshri. Thjey are unintelligible to Persian speakers. Do you by any chance know anyone who has a clue (Shubha for instance)?

Dear Mr. Aneesh,

I'm emailing on behalf of a company called Spotlight Events, and our company is launching a large-scale property called the Indian Music Conference in Goa later in November this year. The official dates are from the 17th-20th of November wherein the conference will take place on the 19th and the 20th.

Essentially, IMC aims to be a mélange of sorts with lots of music across different genres and artists being showcased along-with the creation of an interesting forum for panel discussions and thought sharing between people from the music industry (artists, agencies, record labels, et al). Now while the main conference, workshops and the new talent showcases will happen at Resort Rio, (its a new 5-star property bang in the middle of north Goa), the performances will happen across 6 different venues every night simultaneously as well as huge open-air concerts on 2 of the nights.

I do hope you find our concept interesting. In this regard as i had said, i would like to check your availability as panelist for 1 of our panels. This is a panel on Classical Music and it will be moderated by Mr. Jay Visva Dev from London. The essence of the panel has been summed up below:
REVIVED & REPACKAGED! THE NEW SOUNDS OF INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC

Indian classical music has been reverberating in the hearts of people around the world for hundreds of years now. However, as the times change, and they are changing quickly, so does the packaging and presentation of the arts. Something similar is happening on the Indian classical music front. Innovation and globalization is the call of the hour and, our Indian talent is answering it vociferously. How and what is happening is what we are discussing in this panel. Come have a listen.

That is our panel in a quick snapshot. In fact it would be a great honour for us if you and Mrs. Shubha Mudgal could both sit in on the panel and share your viewpoints.

All speakers and panelists would be put up at Resort Rio itself where the conference is taking place. The property can be checked out at http://www.resortrio.com/

Looking forward to hearing from you at the earliest.

Thanks and Warm Regards

Pooja Yadav
